under which head of the balance sheet govt security will be shown?

I believe its investment in G-Sec, therefore it should be discloused under Investment schedule.

depends on the investment instrument. What is the exact instrument - nsc certificates or g-secs? and why did you invest? surplus funds or is it some sort of deposit needed by a supplier/customer etc.
