  Mr linekbp,

The Vishakapattanam Port Trust is a very large public sector company and it will have a TIN no. Contact them and try to get it. While sending some goods on interstate sale your invoice should be enough. But some stattes have a bit differnt rules. They want an official delivery note  of MVAT Act to be accompanied with it. The only reason for this is it contains  more details of the consignee/buyer than in an invoice.Try to send a delivery note(as per MVAT Act) and also your delivery challan and packing list,if required. If the Port Trust is registered you can charge 2% on the sales expecting a 'C' form.If not full tax has to be charged...MJK
