My mother had filed IT returns for the Financial year 2012-2013 four days back (Feb 23, 2016) after reeiving a compliance notice email (only email). We filed it under Section 142(1) as it was delayed returns and the last date for filing was March 2015.
Now the status has been changed (Feb 26, 2016) to "Transferred to AO". In the details it says ITR transferred out of CPC to jurisdictional assessing officer in income tax office for processing.
Can you please clarify on
1) Transferred to AO - does this mean you will be called for scrutiny?
2) Or the update is just to tell that the IT AO will process it and not the CPC
3) Does this happen for all delayed filings?
The details are all perfect and no refund was requested (Nil tax balance). Only thing is that the filing was delayed. My mother is apprehensive because she thinks she will be called for scrutiny.
