I want to take a transfer I am still in the 1st year of my articleship. But my Principal is not giving me a transfer letter. He is asking me to serve and threatening me that he will complain to ICAI about my behaviour. What should I do now?

In short: Under ICAI rules, you have an unrestricted right to transfer during your first year of articleship. Document your service, send a formal resignation email, and submit Form 109 on the SSP portal. If your Principal continues to threaten or block you, report the matter immediately to your ICAI Regional Office with your documentation; ICAI will step in to protect your rights and facilitate the transfer.
