I want to start new retail business from home , for which I intend to purchase material from out of state (Maharashtra) of Approx Rs 50,000 P.M.

Supplier ask for my TIN , without which he can't dispatch the goods, ( Only 1 supplier)

I searched for TIN registration process, and found that Registraion Fees of Rs. 5000 and Security Deposit Rs 25000 has to be paid through Challan 210, for voluntary registration.

do I need to register as voluntary registration ( what is voluntary registration) and what time it will take to complete this process.

Pls guide me , if I want to register for TIN do I need to pay Security Deposit of Rs 25000. OR

Is there is any other alternative.

u r choosing voluntary registration

after u will liable to pay duty i.e. vat these 25000 will be set off

Dear Ajay,

From 01.04.2013 onwards, you are not required to pay security deposit (surety) amount. The said surety has been exempted by the Govt. for the benefit of the public at large.

You need to pay only Rs. 5000 and some other few amount for the registration purpose.

sorry in that case... yes, you are right... i was talking about DVAT... There might be little understanding in this regards..

Sorry again for any inconvinence caused in that regard, and, as i am not familiar with Mah. VAT... i can't say much about the surety in that case.... Then, manoj might be right in that perspective (might be Mah. Govt. is following old provision even today of having surety from the dealer).. i am not sure...
