For the AY2014-15,Assessing Officer issued a notice u/s143(2) on 16/06/2016.As of my knowledge last date for issuanco of notice u/s143(2) is 30/09/2015 and hence the given notice is time barred.Am I right???Please guide me
Scrutiny assessment notice u/s143(2) can be issued within 6 months from the end of relevant A.Y. in this case for A.Y 2014-15 last date for issue of notice is 30/09/2015. Hence you are right, notice is time barred. However, check notice once again for the safety and make sure it is for A.Y. 14-15 or P.Y.14-15, if it is P.y 14-15 then then time limit of notice will be 30/09/2016 and the notice will be valid in such case.
