Time barred Notice of Sales Tax

Hello everyone !

I have received a Sales Tax notice which is related to F.Y.2011-12.. i.e. almost 10years old.

Just wanted to know if i can get this notice termed as Time Barred under some provision as i am not able to find any papers related to that FY.

Replies will be very helpful.

You have to search your papers, no provisions for time barred

Thanks for the reply mam.

So, if i get a notice pertaining to period even 15yrs back..of which finding papers will be impossible..i may be held liable as per the subject and amount (whatsoever) mentioned in the notice ??
