Tds would be deducted?

If a person is providing service of sending SMSs (advertising), numbers would be given by client and is charging service tax.. Is client required to deduct TDS?? if yes under which section and why??

In my views TDS u/s 194 J should be deducted since they are rendering a professional service.

Yes TDS will be attracted on this transaction and i am of the opinion that it would be treated as contract for advertismnet and hennce section 194C will be applicable.

we have purchase glasses for our office renovation. The seller give us 2 bill 1 is purchase bill with 12.5% vat added & 1 is jobwork charges. how can we made entry in tally & can we deduct tds on jobwork bill. plz suggest me

As per me under section 194 C..because before providing professional service there is a contract betwwen the service provider and service receiver...So as per my knolwedge 194 C should be applicable...No need to get confused..Cheers,,!!

Yes TDS will be deducted u/s 194C "Payment to conractors".

Ms./Mrs. Sameena you have to deduct tds on job work charges u/s 194C. No tds is required to be deducted on purchases of glasses. For making an entry in tally, debit the office renovation expenses.
