Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether TDS under Section 194Q applies to a company's purchase of paper and stationery for its own use, amounting to £51 lakhs. The applicability hinges on two main conditions: the company's preceding financial year turnover exceeding £10 crore and the current financial year's purchases reaching the £50 lakh threshold. If the turnover is below £10 crore, Section 194Q is not applicable.

No, Your turnover during the last F.Y is below 10 Crore including GST -So 1st condition is not satisfied.

So 194Q Provision is not applicable in your case.

If the turnover during the preceding year is >10cr, then tax to be deducted at source u/s 194q on purchase of any good including stationery once the threshold limit of ₹50 lacs is reached.

No TDS is not applicable
Turnover of last is more then 10 cr

Then check the 2nd condition, Ji.

Turnover from April to June - Exceeds Rs 50 Lakhs (Excluding GST) or Not.

The 2nd condition is also applicable, 194 Q is also in practical.
