Hello everyone,

I have a query regarding TDS filing. One of my clients has got demand for interest on late payment of TDS and he has paid interest under head 400.Now is there a need to inform TDS dept that the demand is paid- through some sort of filing?

For the purpose of removal of the demand you have to file a revised tds return.

In that return you have to add the challan online first. After that you have to file that revised return. Once you file that the revised return the demand will be remove from traces site.

Thankyou for your reply. But instead of revised return can we do online correction to aadd the challan?

Add challan means only you are going to adding the challan in return.

But once you file it revised that means you want inform to department that what is the purpose of the new challan paid.

but will there be any issue if we do not file the revised return?

Demand will be not remove untilll you file the revised return.

Please go through a logic.

Please give me a answer of my below question:-

What will happen if you paid your all income tax but you didn't file the IT return?

Hope you understand what I want to mean.

Yeah you're right.thankyou

Yes, You have to File the Return, if you already filed, you can File Revised Return with given Challan Details.
