where dividend paid by principal officer of domestic co. up to 2500 is exempt,
above it tds is deducted at 10%

Isn't that contradicting the section 10(34) which says dividend above 10lakhs is taxable at 10%
please justify. thank you

you have taken it absolutely wrong ....dividend paid by a foreign company exceeding ₹2500 will attract TDS and not by a domestic company. because domestic companies pay dividend distribution tax before declaring dividend and is hence exempted upto ₹ 10 lacs
Err.. sorry sir but I would like to correct
dividend paid by "domestic co" covered under section 2(22)(e) is taxable to tds if exceeds 2500
domestic company if

DDT paid then exempt upto ₹ 10 lacs
DDT NOT PAID then exempt upto ₹ 2500
