Can I file my first TDS return online? Or it is mandatory to file first tds return from nsdl centre and from next, it can be filed online. And also tell me the time period for verifying tds return.

E-TDS return has to be filed in the ASCII clean text format. To avail of this format, you can use the software of your choices such as Computex, MS Excel or Tally. Also, you have the option of using the software available at the NSDL website known as Return Prepare Utility (e-TDS RPU Light) for filing the return online.
