Tds return-24q-
hello
i was filing tds return of salary for the 4th quarter of f.y.2016-17 through RPU version of NSDL. but its asking for employee reference number. We don't provide reference numbers. after contacting NSDL they are saying its a 9 digit alfa-numeric number. but then its saying invalid.
please help.

you may use 1,2,3,4....no need of alpha numeric.....
as per my knowledge the same is not a mandatory fields
Just add six letters of the company name and three numbers starting as 001. eg ABCDEF001. Though employee reference number is optional.
U can use employee code if any, mix with company name
its mandatory. without providing the valid refernece number form 27A not generating.
6 digit alphabets & 3 digit numbers i tried,then tried with pan number also. still not working.
it worked when i mentioned 000000001 number for forst employee & so on.
