can anybody tell me whether payment of tds has to be via e-payment only or it can be deposited directly through a bank in cash or cheque mode.And if via internet,then let me know when did this provision came into being?

E-payment of TDS is mandatory only for corporate assesses & all assesses to whom provisions of section 44AB are applicable.
