TDS on Rented Furniture from Service Provider

Hi,

I am have a new office started for which I have taken Office Furniture on Rent from RentMacha

I wanted to understand, the TDS implication on the same. Since for eg. I do not deduct any TDS when taking aide of Google for online marketing, would the same be applicable here?

Do I deduct TDS? or do I pay in full as it is a service provided to me and they are not a vendor of mine

Under Section 194i a person (other than Individuals and Hindu Undivided Family) who is paying rent is liable for Tax deduction at source. The tax can be deducted at source when the total amount of rent to be received or paid in a particular financial year is more than Rs. 1,80,000. While Individuals and Hindu Undivided Families who come under the purview of the taxation are also liable for tax deduction at source, the aggregate limit was previously Rs.1,80,000 but now with effect from 1st June 2017 the rule of the payments has changed. Now both Individuals and Hindu Undivided Family are obligated for tax deduction at source at 5% of the rent collected given the rent exceeds Rs 50,000.

TDS Rates for Rent

The following will be the TDS rates applicable for rent: Plant, machinery or equipment- 2%. Rent of land, building and furniture for individuals and Hindu Undivided Family- 10%. Rent of land, building or furniture in case of others- 10%

Sorry Sir for the late response.. You should deduct Tax, I have the same business and i also provide rental furniture, revolving chairs, completely office setup, sofa, bed and more.
