what is the limit for tds on rent???

194 I - 180000 in a financial year
194 IB - 50000 per month

mam if i give rent under 194 I in the month march 2018 rs 14000 will I deduct tds on rent in f.y. 2017-18??? mam plz reply

No because neither you are covered under section 194I nor under section 194IB

ok mam if i paid rent from march 2018 of rs 16000 per month and i have paid rent till march 2019... under sec 194 I and in that case will i deduct tds in f.y. 2018-19???? My point is that under sec 194 I financial year means from april to march????Mam plz reply

Yes if total payment in f.y. 2018-19 exceed Rs. 180000 then you are required to deduct TDS as In your case total payment will be of Rs. 192000 so you are required to deduct TDS in 18-19

and mam if i paid rent in march 2018 rs 16000 then in f.y 2017-18 i donot need to deduct tds in f.y. 2017-18 as my rent amount doesnot exceed rs 180000....am i right mam???? plz reply mam
