TDS on packing & forwarding

Dear All,

Our company is a authorised distributor of  automobile spares in AP of a MNC, Production unit of the MNC is   located in pune,so we have appointed one local person as authorised packing & forwarding agent on behalf our company, For this service he  charges @ 2% on vaule of the invoice, Total amount per month around Rs.1.5lakh, the issue is , Is it  come under TDS or not? which section ? if it comes under TDS, which section applicable ,what is the percentage of TDS ?

The Nil rate will be applicable if the transporter quotes his PAN. If PAN is not quoted the rate will be 20%. (Transporter means persons engaged in plying, hiring and leasing of Goods Carriages) for payment on or After 1st april 2010

Yes TDS will be applicable U/s 194 C.

DEAR SIR,

I HAVE DONE LOCAL PURCHASE OF GOODS BUT SEPERATELY MENTION PACKING & FORWARDING CHARGES IN the SAME INVOICE.

NOW MY QUESTION IS ABOUT TDS.

TDS WILL APPLY OR NOT.

PLEASE HELP.

Yes TDS will be applicable U/s 194 C.
