I have applied for TDS number in 21 may 2011. But the status shows that it is under process at income tax department till 5 july 2011. I have mail to NSDL, call them, Mail to income tax depptt. ,mail them, but no appropriate solution is proided to me. Plz suggest me what to do bcoz on 7 july i have to make payment od TDS. If i have not been alloted the TDS no. then i may become the defaulter for non-payment of TDS

Valji sir no reply is given to me. After that i call NSDL they suggest me to call the income tax department then i called there they suggest me to mail to ask @ incometaxindia.gov.in. I mailed there, they also does not give any response. Now i am helpless as i have to make payment on 7 july & have to file the return on 15 july.
WRITE TO NSDL AND CONCERNED ITO, AND HAVE DATED ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RECEIPT OF SUCH LETTER WHICH WILL HELP YOU TO AVOID PENALTY.

write also letter to your assessing officer that you applied for TAN No still not get take acknowledgement so that any penelty come then you have proff that you applied but not get PAN No
