Dear Swati,

For A Y 11-12, returu was to be filed by 31 July 2011 and since you have filed in March 2011, you were on time and thus you can revise the return..

154 is not applicable in your case..

But how come you have file the return in March 2011..(before the end of the financial year)

but if it is filed in march 2012, you cannot revise now..

sorry Ankit i filled my return on march 2012..so m not eligible of revised return..so now what should i do to claim that TDS..

Thank you for reply

Swati,

I have sent you a Pvt. Msg...

pls check

Hi Ankit

This is a public forum, request you to share the information you have here as well, so that other can also gain knowledge from your experience.

rectification u/s 154 will be allowed for such mistake

Dear Swati

If an assessee failed or forgot to claim tax refund (TDS) then he/she shuold to worry about this. In next Assessment year while  filing return of income he/she can claim tax refund of old A.Y.  giving particulars of such TDS like TAN, Name of Party who deducted, Amount Paid/credited,Date of Payment and Financial year in which deduction has made.
But one thing to note that TDS related income has been shown in old A Y in which mistakenly tax refund  wasn't claim so that any tax evasion matter wouldn't arise.

Thanks

Thanx all for your help...vil claim that tds in next AY...
