Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether an employer must deduct TDS on salary that falls below the annual exemption limit, even if the employee's total income (including rent and other sources) exceeds it. The consensus is that if the total income, after accounting for standard deductions and potential rebates like Section 87A, remains below the taxable threshold, TDS is generally not applicable. Employees are advised to report all income sources to their employer.

After considering rebate u/s. 87A of IT act, TDS is not deductible.

Any other income should be reported to the employer . Still Tds is not applicable.

Rent is eligible for 30% standard deduction
