in case of professional charges u/s. 194D the limit for deduction of TDS is Rs. 30,000/- .

if  total payment or single payment exceeds Rs. 30,000/- can eligible to deduct TDS

so in this case not require to deduct.

sorry not 194D the professional charges comes under the sec. 194J

Thanks Swapana

If i have an advocate who gives me charges Rs. 2000/- for an assignment. He issues individual invoice for his assignment. but in a financial year we might oay him total of 50,000/- on different assignments. then?

If the amount exceeds Rs. 30,000/- in a financial year, TDS will be deducted  for earlier amount also for that year.

What are the permissible deductions under the IT Act from a consultant's income and what are the proofs required to claim such deductions?

Thanks
