TDS credit - Certificate given by foreign party

TDS 970 views 2 replies

We have received TDS certificate in foreign currency.  Our client has deducted TDS and provided certificate in USD.  Under which section we can claim this TDS?  Will it be covered under DTAA??

check the language printed on your TDS certificate, and you can find it that its credit is available in india or not.

DTAA is the answer to your query. It depends on the country to which the deductor depends. In case India has DTAA with that country, DTAA will have the treatment for the tax deducted in that country. If India doenot have DTAA with that country, provisions of sec 91A applies.

Give the origin of the deductor, i wiil be able to tell you better.
