Dear Raj,

for claiming the refund, you have to file the return.

31st march2011 (today)  is the last date for filing of return for F.Y.2008-09.

so file it today only.

Agreed with Santosh, if you fails to file the return by today than you can do so only after getting the Approval from ITO (Income Tax Officer) or Commission of Income Tax of your Range and the return must be submitted within the specified section provided by the ITO or Commissioner.

In case, you file the return after 31st March, 2011 of F.Y. 2008-09 without getting the prior approval of ITO or commission than your return will not be accepted and you will not eligible for getting Refund.

So if you fails to file the return by today don't take it usual. Don't file the same without permission.
