A person has two proprietorship concerns and has two tan numbers in the name of the proprietorship business.

Now my question is if he pays interest(other than interest on securities) which is not related to his business, to any individual, is he liable to deduct tds.

Hi Pavan,

He is not liable to TDS as it is not related to the any business.

If interest paid is claimed from other sources no TDS liable as not related to business

If the interest is not claimed as expenditure in any of the firm, it is not liable for TDS

thanks for ur reply.....
