Tax return ..retrieval of log in ID and password

My colleague used to file tax return thru consultant. With sudden demise of consultant, he does not know registered email id and password. As he trues to retrieve password, otp goes to email id and mobile, not with colleague.

What can be done now

Quick Summary
If you've lost your login ID and password for filing tax returns, and can't receive OTPs due to the consultant's demise, there are several recovery options. Your login ID is your PAN. You can attempt a password reset via net banking, which allows you to update your registered email and mobile details afterwards. Alternatively, contact the helpline for assistance; they can send a reset link to a new email address after verification. Checking your last intimation under section 143(1) might reveal the registered mobile and email. Linking your Aadhaar to the IT portal also offers an OTP-based login and password reset method.

An option is available provided you log in through net banking; whereby you can change your password. Login ID is your PAN itself.

Once password is set you may change all such other details in Profile, as per your wish.

Alternatively, you contact helpline. After some verification, they allow you to reset password, by sending link to your desired Email.

Your last intimation u/s 143(1) will show mobile and email regd with Dept!
Link aadhar on IT portal and then change password for login through aadhar otp
