While filing E-returm is mandatory,is department is not bound to pass on refund elecronically without physical presence of the assessee?Assessee who do file return online should short out department queries thorugh e-mail if any,otherwise insist on summon forappearing before the A.O.and make department responsible for the cost of attendance by the Assessee.
i think now government refunds tax in the bank account only....as when u files the ITR in that time it is mandatory to give bank details in case of refund

the refunds are given electronically these days... it is natural that when they take the returns and we have to pay tax electronically they will give the refund with interest electronically. THe only problem might be they delay in paying the returns
