A person has obtained his PAN from the state of Jharkhand, as then he was resising there.
Now currently he works in Hyderabad. He has filed his rerturn online from Hyderabad.
For income tax refund he has been asked to contact his assessing officer. In income tax site his jurisdiction reflects as that of Jharkahnad state, as PAN was applied there.
Pls confirm if he can contact assessing office in Hyderabd (rarher than Jharkhand) for the refund.
Technically, the above answer is correct. Meanwhile the assesseee is advised to log in (Profile)and change the address to the present address and avoid this type of technical problems in future.
Plese apply for Income tax ward change in the Jarkhand. Then after you may contact Hyderabad Income tax officer for income Tax Refund(Where You have filed the I t Return)
The tax payer should apply to Dept through Form 49A for recording of his new address against his PAN.

Assessee is liable for refund & he has to contact his assessing officer to change his account number.
Can he apply thru assessing officer in hyderabad & not jharkhand. Return is filed online in hyderabad.
