cash received on birth occasion is it taxable or exempt?

Quick Summary
Gifts of cash received on a birth occasion are generally exempt from tax if the total amount received within a year is less than £50,000. However, if the total exceeds this threshold, the entire amount becomes taxable and will be added to your income, taxed according to your individual tax bracket. It's worth noting that such gifts may be considered income of the parents.
As rightly said the limit is 50k. i assume that monies were gifted to the child. nevertheless it would be clubbed with the income of either of the parents
