Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the tax liability on interest earned from government bonds, specifically addressing IDFC Infrastructure Bonds. It explores whether such income is taxable or tax-exempt, and if exempt, what the limits are. If the interest is not tax-free, it will be declared under 'other sources of income'.

Is it tax free bond if yes then exempt
Is intt.income on IDFC INFRASTRUCTURE BOND TAXABLE?
IDFC bonds are two types earlier they are not tax free bond later they gives tax saving bonds as I don't know if it tax free or not
if it is tax free then see the limit of that amount that will be exempted
again if it is fully tax free then fully exempted
again if it is not tax free then the interest will be treated as income and you will show it in others source of income
