Quick Summary
A user mistakenly selected 'regular assessment tax' (code 400) instead of 'self-assessment tax' (code 300) when filing their income tax return for FY 20-21. They are seeking advice on how to rectify this error. The advice given suggests waiting for the assessment order, as it might be processed correctly. If not, a rectification application can be filed after receiving the intimation order.
Regular assessment means ýou are filing your returns within the due date every year. Self assesment tax means you have self assessed and paying tax according to the prevalent laws of income tax.
