Return of my father was filed in July 2013 for AY 2013-14. In 26AS TDS was showing as Rs.7615 and accordingly claimed in ITR. The utility was showing refund of Rs.5150. But his account is showing tax credit mismatch stating that in 26AS amount is Rs.1834 but 26AS is showing Rs.7615 as claimed in ITR.His ITR too not processed yet. what to do??????
My father was retired in August 2012 at that time his TDS deducted was Rs.5781 which is not considered by tax credit mismatch report.
Fill a new form and go for pre fill ITR XML which is available in the Download option after login on the website (after downloading select pre file option in the Form which is available in the right, Last option) for the relevant assement year which automatically pre fills all the details regarding Name, DOB, Tax paid, TDS deducted , etc.
If the amount shown there does not match with the amount of TDS deducted check who has not given credit for your TDS and request them to revised their TDS return , because they may quoted wrong Pan while uploading their TDS reurn.
TDS return is correctly filed as amount is duly reflected in 26AS i.e.7615 and i have claimed the same amount in ITR Rs.7615
Sometimes there is rounding off error. So Check about that.
Last option is after the ITR gets processed you can visit your asseessing officer with all the xerox copies of TDS certificate and write a letter for refund which will be processed.
You can also go for Online retification after the return gets processed.
