Dear all,

I m working on Tally ERP 9 currently. I am doing entries of prevois period. While doing entries of purchase and sale "units" option was shown as not applicable. Since purchase & sale entries are made one by one i didnt need the "units" option. But now after updating the entries till date i have to enter opening stock of each item in units which i am not able to do since in those items unit option is not activated. Even if i activate that option now it works on new items created but not on already created items. I am not able to alter previously created items in respect of "unit" options.

Please help me on this because i cant change all the sale and purchase entries which are around 1000 in numbers.

i faced a problem with tally in opening & closing stock, When i enter closing stock then opening stock for the period is changed

opening stock is 223800

closing stock is 2639756

thn opening stock too changed to closing stock

how cam i improve this mistake

Jaya, it cannot be altered. You can use this alternative option.

Press F11 in gateway of tally.

select accounting features option.

then make integrate account & inventory to NO.

this will hide the opening & closing stock from P & L A/c.

& you can fill any figure in Stock account.

Dear Jaya,

If you want to get the stock items in tally there is 2 alternatives

1. automatic updation of stock value it will takes weighted avg methos ( press F11 stock option yes)

2. Stock items will enter in tally but the closing stock value to be putted manually ( press F11 stock option No)

For stock you should open enther slae or purchase voucher there you need to create a stock item in the middle of voucher entry.
