My query is suppose i received loan of RS 5000 from XYZ on 31.05.09 & repaid it on 30.10.09 so the balance on 31.03.10 is nil but balance shhet is displaying the name of XYZ.. where is option in tally to show only non zero account names??????

Reasons:
you have made the account set as Primary which will appear irrespective of the balance.
Make sure you have made the account under Primary, let's say, Loans and Advances.
When the balance is NIL, The Loans and Advances will appear without any current balance (NIL in this case)

That doesnt work because tally shows up all the accounts immedietely behind that group where there were atleast one transaction. I suppose we cannot stop it from showing the name
