The Nil rate is applicable if the transporter quotes his PAN. If PAN is not quoted the rate will be 20%.

no TDS liability for goods carriage transport form 1st oct 2009. and PAN should be provided by the transporter. if no PAN 20% TDS will be attract the same.

IF THE GOODS TRANSPORT IS MADE BY THE AIR ROUTE . IS THERE ANY LIABILITY OF TDS??? IF YES . THEN PLZ HELP ME OUT IN THIS MATTER .

dear friend,
i feel like u have already got the answer....
nywez in crux if u have pan of transporter (4m 1-07-10)...no need to deduct TDS but do file TDS return stating the aggregrate amount ....ie NIL return
Further if u dont have pan deduct @ 20%
