how to calculate swachh bharat cess? pls show one example ?

Example: Assume taxable amount is Rs. 10,000/- Swachh Bharat Cess @ 0.50% on Rs. 10,000/- is equal to Rs. 50/-. Swachh Bharat Cess is alike service tax and hence it is calculated on basic amount of service tax.

Dear Ganeshan,
SBC is not computed on basic amount of service tax. But as correctly given in example it is computed on the taxable value. The value on which ST and SBC is computed would be same.

Agreed Nagendra ji, SBC is calculated on basic amount and not on service tax as highlighted in my reply.
