Quick Summary
If your GST registration has been suspended or cancelled by the department due to non-filing of returns, especially after a period of nil business, you may need to take specific steps. While direct cancellation via the portal might be blocked after suspension, you'll likely need to address any Show Cause Notices (SCN) issued by the officer and pay applicable penalties. It's advisable to file all pending returns up to the effective cancellation date and consider seeking professional help to navigate the process correctly.

How to Surrender your GSTIN

  1. Step 1: Login into your account on GST.GOV.IN.
  2. Step 2 : Go to Services >> Registration >> Application for Cancellation of Registration.
  3. Step 3: Fill the address for future communication or select the option of Address same as above and then go to cancellation details tab.
Sir, options not showing after suspended

Since your account has been suspended application for cancellation cannot be made suo-moto now since the officer himself will issue an SCN for cancellation along with penalty as per the provions. for better submission to authority hire an appropriate consultant.

File all pending returns (till the month of suo motto cancellation by the department, i.e effective date of cancellation) and then apply online for cancellation of GSTIN
