Suggestion for CA Final Passing Marks to the institute

Hi guys just thought of a unique idea abot wht the passin mark shld be in CA Final/PE2/IPCC/PCC......

Let the passing Mark in each subject be 50%

and once a student passes with 50% and above pass him in tht subject permanently....(i.e. a permanent credit...)

Lets not have the 40% rule....

The logic is tht when a student ends up getting scores like say 55,52,53,33......

why shld he/she be unfairly asked to repeat all 4 subjects....doesnt a score of 56 or 57 show tht the student has aptitude for the subject

this wld actually result in benefit to lots of students....

This was a thght tht came to my mind...n i think its a nice idea...

even in a CIMA exam.....a student gets permanent credit for 50% n above....

Please share ur opinions....

all views (even differing are welcome)........

if a student gets 50 in all the four subjects.....he/she will automatically pass in that group....why would anyone ask them to repeat those subjects..........wat does this "pass him in that sub permanently" means......

it means tht once u get 50 and above in a subject u pass that subject forever and do not hv to repeat tht in any circumstances..(i.e right now if u get 60 plus u get exempted frm tht subj for 3 attempts...)...so if he gets 53,52,55,33 in 4 subjects....he passes the subjects where he has got 50+....presently if u get such marks u will hav to repaet all 4 subjects.....

Already as understood same practice of  granting permanent exemption pass in subject in given in the Institutre of Engineers Exam AIME. CA?ICWAI?CS Institute may like to have a think over the same-----A student getting 59Marks in a subject is not given any benefit on the other hand a student who gets 60Marks-he besides getting exemption and gets carry over credit of 20Marks is it in order.

I thnk its a very gud idea..institute shuld atleast increase the minimum passing marks to 45 frm 40..or reduce the exemption limit to 55..it happens so many times tht students get 55 to 59 marks in one subject and loose exemption also and 6 months...dnt knw why institute dnt understand ths hardships faced by large..wats the diff btwn those who get 50 or 52 marks and pass and those who get above 55 in any subject and still flung.. may b to maintain its prime status of hw tough CA Exams are institute is nt in any mood to gv a thought..

I think its wrong Idea. in this way students will start clearing exam one by one. if a student will prepare for single subject only than he can get easily 50. even 60 he/she can get. but he can not be regarded as intelligent. because real test for CA is passing each and simultaneoulsy scoring 50 aggregate.

a student who get 55 in one subjects and 23 in other dont deserve to be given any benefit.

so according to me its not supported.

In my opinion Vinay is correct.......

Because as a CA student is a professional. I think only some will prepare for one subject if this is introduced.

But most of the students is sincerly preparing for all the subjects & just because of getting 59 marks if will regret to write all the subjects again.

I think many of them had thought like this... HOW MUCH WE WORKED HARD.... IT'S NOT ENOUGH JUST BECAUSE IF THEY GAVE ONE PAPER VERY TOUGH.

Like Accounts paper for Ca Final Old syllabus Nov 2009.

EVENTHOUGH PASSING PERCENTAGE IS KEPT AS 50%, PERSON WITH 49 MARKS STILL HAS NOT GOT EXEMPTION. SO THIS HURDLE CANNOT BE ELIMINATED

Dear friends,

In continuation of the discussion,  I feel  55% is  a  fair enough parameter to judge the level of student; even if  the paper in which the student scores 55% option may be given to student either to get exemption without carry over of  marks, getting/touching 50+marks in view of  unscertain pattern of  question set may be taken as good standard.

Thanking you

i support Aldrin.

we are not writing individual papers, but we are preparing for the whole groups.

if we are doing CA , then in its applicable rules we need to do it. survive in the existing stuation would rule.

and if u like to get permenant marks in diluted manners , we have m.com n other courses , we have an option to join there and be happy.

get out of the comfort zone , strrugle a bit.

good luck dude
