Suggestion

Hello People ..

I'm new here...

I need a suggestion....

I'm now an IPCC student, going to make my first attempt in May 2013.

All I wanted to know is ...

Will scanners be of any use to me now???

Since they are a little costly, I'm thinking of it...

Can you please give me a suggestion soon???

Thank you.

Sneha Bollepalli.

Better, refer to Practice Manual issued by ICAI than a scanner.

Actually I saw some here suggesting some scanners for exam......

So, I thought they would b of any use...

I'm confused now...

Practice manual is ok.Take help from my notes on www.castudyarena.com
No Sneha, scanners are not of any use. They just contain the solved past year questions and also the quality of answers given in it is very poor. And you will find all the questions that are given in a scanner in the practise manuals of ICAI. And for recent past few attempts questions, you can download it through www.icai.org. Trust me, the practise manuals contains the past year papers and buying scanners is just sheer wastage of money. Good Luck.

Practice Manual will be good comparatively scanner

Scanners doesnt contain the quality answers which is expected of us. Its better prefer Practise Manuals. They contain past year questions solved chapter wise and have standard answers.

Sneha,

Scanners are a compilation of past examination Q & A, and Practice Manual is on the same lines. It is arranged topic wise and gives you more standardized approach in writing the answers. The quality of answers in a practice manual is good compared scanners. The recent trend is also an indication, that many questions are getting weightage in the examination from Practice Manual.

s pracyice manuals r nothing but scanners only u can easily refer that.... else u can download last 7 Ipcc papers auggested answers they r more than enough
Absolutely agree to Sathish. He is right many questions are being asked from practise manuals.

Complete first of all, study materials issued by I.C.A.I &

Practise manuals & Scanners usefull only when ur study material issued by I.C.A.I is complete in all respects.

Prefer Practise Manual rather than Scanners

Sneha

My opinion is Scanner is an absolute friend of yours for the below reasons;

1. It tells you the importance of each chapter in a subject from exam point of view. Cause it gives you a chart showing the marks each chapter carried over a period of at least last 10 - 15 exams

2.Since you are new, it tells you the pattern of questions. E.g., what is that you will be asked in ques. no. 1, 2 etc. it gives a comfortable position. Question paper will not be new for you in the exam.

3. Almost 60% of the marks in the exam comes from very few important chapters from each subject. Scanner tells you that secret.

Decision is yours

For exam point of view, Practise manual is more than enough. Scanners are past question bank collections.
