Dear Sirs,

I am starting a home based business of sales and installation of domestic burglar alarm systems in my place. I have already obtained the trade licenece from the municipality board. I will be purchasing my products from Delhi and later I will directly import from China. What are the necessary certificates or licences required (apart from the trade licence) for the above said business ? I have learnt from various website that import policy of burglar alarm is free. I am totally stuck up after getting the trade licence due to lack of proper guidance.

Documents available with me now is : 1. Trade Licence 2. My PAN card 3. My identity and Address Proof

  • First arrange the following documents with u 1. Identity Proof, 2. Address Proof, and PAN CARD with u.
  • Approach the Sales tax Department of your area, ask the officer , to get registration of your home based business. The officer will guide you. Registration fee is Rs.500/- for VAT + OTHER OFFICE EXP
  • To import or export, you must have to get IEC (Import Export Code) No. To get this please write to us to get the license.
  • Trade license issued by the Municipality is different from VAT REGISTRATION. To do the business within your state you must registre with the VAT, and also you want to do the business out of your states you must get registration with Central Sales Tax.
