I am a big zero in accountancy, I am 26 - and suddenly there has come this huge burden - should i start my ca now. I actually want it bad. Real Bad.I am ready to give up my current job + salary ( which isn't much) and whatever else that comes with this - so guys - ca's, part qualified ca's - do you think this is actually a good thing. No one not even my wife supports this idea. No problems financially.

Give me some good advice huh...please.

it would be tough for u as ca is not an easy course with articleship etc etc.... instead go in for CPA usa, that ways u will have accountancy knowledge and it requires only around 6 months of dedicated studies.
I will not ask you to close down on something like CPA without considering all options open for you.

think well. there are very good options avaibale CFA from US, CISA and lots of other options are available.

Starting CA at 26 may not necessarily be a bad idea. however starting so late may certainly have its disadvantages
Dear Varun,

Don't worry about the age. Age is not a limiting factor for higher education. There is one meassage which says CA is tough. Yes it is. But it can be cleared if you study properly. I am 36 years old and I have cleared PE-II group -1 in Nov-06 attempt. Dont worry about what others say.

You would definitely know why you wanna do this course. DO IT....with perseverence. You can get job even without CA qualification. There are people who do not hold CA qualification but drawing more than  CA.

Never lose hopes. YOU CAN and  Keep the fire burning. With Almighty's grace... You will clear this course.
