Stamp paper for articleship

you need to do franking of rs. 100

I think franking of Rs.20

well, inconclusive so far...and btw, what is franking???

i read on ICAI website that deed should be executed in duplicate. Does that mean I should purchase 2 stamp papers of Rs. 20 each????
 

Its RS. 100..& deed should not be in duplicate ..only single copy of deed..Franking is to be taken on the first page of articleship deed...

FORM NO.102 IS YOUR DEED WHICH WOULD BE OF TWO COPIES AND YOU WILL HAVE TO ATTACH STAMP PAPER OF ONLI RS. 20 WITH 102 NO. FORM

franking of RS.100 on the deed (green color form) from a co-operative bank.....

but what is franking?  I have read that if I start in April, my final attempt will be preponed by 6 months.Due to exams, I can start articleship only in early May and that we can't buy stamp paper in back date. So, of what value should I purchase stamp paper, without printing anything on it.

Stamp Paper of Rs. 20/- is to be submiited along with Form 102.

but after watching the ans you got confussed in between Rs. 20/- or Rs. 100/- Stamp Paper.

so you might be submitted stamp paper of Rs. 100/- to be on the safer side.

Rs. 10/- is the correct amount.

If you all carefully read Delhi Stamp Duty rules (entry no. 9), you will find seperate entry for Deed of Apprenticeship, which govern deed of articles for CA students :

"9. APPRENTICESHIP DEED, including every writing relating to the service or tuition of any apprentice, clerk or servant placed with any master to learn any profession, trade or employment, not being articles of clerkship (No. 11) - Ten rupees"

Seperate entry for "ARTICLES OF CLERKSHIP"

11. ARTICLES OF CLERKSHIP or contract where by any person first becomes bound to serve as a clerk in order to his admission as an attorney in any High Court -  Four hundred  rupees

One more thing, Stamp paper need not be submitted with ICAI. it remains with Principal. As far as duplicate copy is concerned, one copy of deed is retained by principal and another part by Article Trainee. So again no need of submission of form 102 with ICAI.

Coming to franking. Franking is a process of putting value of stamp on some document using a machine known as "Fanking Machine". In last 20 years of my professional life I have not seen any stamp paper being franked. But yes, you all must have noticed in your life that sometimes we receive postal documents with stamp value printed on it in "Red" ink. That is franking.
