I have been engaged in the statutory audit of an hotel.
They are hiring audio video equipments for the functions held in banquets.
My query is whether service tax will be applicable..?? (whether they are liable or RCM will apply)...

Yes. Services rendered would be chargeable to service tax and registration would be required in normal course. As regards RCM, provisions applicable similar to other entities would apply here also. This entity would be subject to abatement wherever applicable.
