I got an SMS saying last date for advance taxes is 15th Sept.
Does this mean that - The IT department thinks that i need to pay advance taxes?
I am a pensioner with pension + Income from bank FD's.
Kindly advice. Actually, i havent paid taxes for year ending at 2014 31st March as i was out of country.
i intend to pay it within the next 2 weeks.

i believe since you are pensioner, you must be above 60 years. In such case, if you dont have any business income (which I believe is your case), you don't have to pay any advance tax.
however, for FY 2013-14, you were required to pay taxes and file return before 31 July 2014.
