first of all ...making friends is more than easy. But still i will say you to be focuse on studies .
and here you can get many person who are studies along with you.

so i guess your both probs friends and study wil be solved as you dont need to make eye contact with any1 .

and rahi baat eye contact ..n social skills ..wherever you go may not see other's intersted in you.  So you feel yourself low ..and feel awkward in the required situations.So dont worry this probs will be solved by time

i wud suggest just wear ur attitude and just dont care abt others,as far as ur actions dont hurt anybody just dont care,hv confidence in what u r and focus on  ur studies,hv faith in urself as well as god,when u'll b smthg others eyes will definitely contact u without any effort...........................so study hard and mk ur career ,frnds r not difficult to mk woh toh ban hi jate hai..................all d best
