For dealing in shares , first of all you must have a Demat Account which will be link to your BankAccount.. For this you can contact any Brokerage Firms like ICICI Direct, Indiabulls, Sharekhan, HDFC, Relaincemoney and others.

This is necessary because now a days almost every co. holds its shares in Demat form and for this Demat Account is must. You can operate these demat account by having the trading facility and you are not required to always sit with the brokers for dealing in shares.

As Said by Rahul,U need to have a bank account. After that open a demat account with any of the brokerage houses...Bank account is needed to transfer and withdraw funds for trading..

Shares will be transferred to ur DP account,,u can sell them at any time during market hours.

And one need not to sit @ broker's office to trade.Online trading facility is given by almost all the brokers.U can trade from ur home.Or u can also call up/visit  ur broker to place orders..

Browse through previous topics in this forum..u will get plenty of info..
