As per the latest circular Notification No 43/ 2011–ST dated. 25 August 2011 Return for the Sevice tax is compulsory.

Is it mandatory to file online return for service distributor?
every registered assesee has to file the return through aces.
Fully agree, the notification mentions that with effect from October 1st, 2011,
“(3) Every assessee shall submit the half-yearly return electronically”.
Is the limit of SSI for service tax has been eliminated?

SSI limit is for tax payment, not for return filing. for return filing every registered assessee has to file it mandatory basis
