Service Tax registration for 100% EOU STPI unit

Hi,

Is it required that 100% EOU STPI unit register with Service Tax department? The unit does not have any domestic sales and is not interested in applying for credit of ST paid on input services.

I am aware of exemption of payment of ST on export of services. My question is whether such unit register with the ST department. Thanks.

Sir,

Can you explain why such organization should register. I believe the rule states that registration is required when organization begins to provide 'taxable service'. Export of service is exempt.
