Dear all

whether a private company providing financial advisory services(including those advisory services related to sale and purchase of stocks and shares) will be liable to pay service tax and hence required registration ?.

Yes. The above mentioned serivce is liable to service tax. If the total gross receipts for the year are 9 lakhs then, you need to get registered with the Service tax department and if your turnover exceeds Rs. 10 laks then you will have to start collecting service tax.

For registration of service tax you willl have to make an application in Form ST - 1 and within 1 week you will receive the Registration certificate in Form ST - 2 from the Service tax authority. If you donot receive the serive tax regn certificate within 7 days then it is deemed to be received.
