You cant amend the form ST1 from portal. You have to take printout the form ST1 and fill it for amendment and  deposit it  in the service tax dept. then they will register you under the correct service and send you the amended form ST2 on your client's address.

if u have some practical exposure then u can do it in a single day by personal visiting in the service tax dept. and u can collect the corrected form ST2.
