I own a property in New Delhi, which is on rent and is used for residential purposes only.
I am told that now I need to pay Service tax on the property income, even if it is a residential property.
Can some guide me with reference/s.

As per Item 13 of the Negative List services by way of renting of residential dwelling for use as residence is out of the service tax net. You can refer to the negative list.
